A small crevasse on Svínafellsjökull

If the crevasses wouldn't get any bigger than this, we would be fine, even if, higher up, they would be hidden beneath a thin layer of snow. Well, that turned out to be wishful thinking. There was indeed more snow higher up, and I'm sure that it helped to mitigate the risk by filling and bridging some of the crevasses, but a few that we did see were huge! 18 May 2017.
