A small crevasse zone a bit north of Hvannadalshnúkur

Small perhaps, but these crevasses are big enough to be dangerous. Judging by the map and by the satellite view, there are a whole lot more crevasses in the area than what we saw; most were still well covered. That suggests that our route would become a whole lot more difficult to navigate later in the year. 19 May 2017.
