So glad

To finally see some fresh material (like this TR) from your neck of the woods.

I think now and then about returning to the ADKs (I've only visited once YEARS ago) and a TR like this certainly adds fuel to the fire!

41 years later...

...I finally find the location of Shepherd's Tooth. It was a sort-of secret back in 1971.

Re: 41 years later...

Ha! I didn't know where the Shepherd's Tooth was until a few years ago when I planned on descending the backside of Iroquois as a "short-cut" to Marshall. At the summit, I noticed the prominent rock outcrop and knew it must be the Shepherd's Tooth. I actually created a Route page for it: http://www.summitpost.org/shepherd-s-tooth/199971

Nice views

We camped near Marshall Friday night and did Marshall while you were on the greater peaks of the range. It was a nightmare that took over two hours to find and break the herd path (up to two feet of fresh snow in spots) to the summit, so that was all we accomplished for the day as we had to walk out to Upper works. I can only imagine what it would have been like to try to get across to Marshall from Iriquois under the conditions. We had great views of Iriquois, and I imagined the views from Algonquin and Iriquouis were fantastic and your pictures confirm it.

Re: Nice views

That must have been a cold night. It sounds like you had a rough hike, but I'm sure it made it all that more rewarding. I have yet to hike up the Herbert Brook path... hopefully this spring.
