Thankyou Ejnar, kind of you to say so. I see you are an authority on via ferrata's, with 40 years experience of them - so I really appreciate your vote. I too have done some Dolomite via's - this was my 1st experience of the more modern French ones. I took my wife up another one in the area; the Croix de Toulouse, which I hope to over post next weekend. Plenty more in the Briancon area... as a coinasseur, you should pay a visit if you haven't already done so!

Thanks Sarah and nice to hear from you again.
Yes - I thought it was important to record temporary as well as permanent residents up there - and his majesty let me get up very close, I think because he sensed a brother in me - so the side by side not too far out (albeit a bit cheeky, since I couldn't begin to match him for climbing skill - only looks)
