Along the Ozark Trail

Along the Ozark Trail

The Rocky Falls spur from the Current River section of the Ozark Trail. Another great swimming hole. These falls really are spectacular after a nice rain.

Wow, very different

I just revisited this picture and am surprised to see the falls dry.

The trees are all leafed up, too.

Both are quite different than what I saw:

They aren't dry but really low. I visited here at least three times I can remember. The first time was on a couple of day backpacking trip when I arrived at the falls after dark. I slept on my sleeping pad under my tarp on the large rock at the center-top of the falls through a nice rainstorm and watched as the water rose significantly over an hour or so. The next day the trails were so muddy that I hitch-hiked back to my vehicle and went home. Great memories!
