Ring of Steall
The Ring of Steall is a FINE way to take in 4 1/2 (???) Scottish peaks in one outing. (Poor An Garbhanach being de-listed and all...). Steall Falls, the cable bridge, lovely scrambling after this summit, Devils Ridge. Minus the fact that the weather completely socked us in after Am Bodach, this was a simply incredible day. Dinner at The Crofter afterward - smokey whiskey included!

Fleeing from midges!
Having experienced worst midge attack of my life, fled up An Gearanach in the rain - but it cleared at the top and I went on to traverse 2/3 of the Mamore summits.

The Ring
With Colin, Ken & Little Eric. We crossed the cable bridge and walked up in the mist/whiteout. On top Colin argued with some N.Irish climbers about which ridge to take towards An Garbhanach and the continuation along the Ring of Steall. In that case their compass bearing was correct so we headed south along the ridge.

Nice Ridge
Did this January 2008. Wonderful wintery ridge scramble. I would loved to have done the whole ring as the weather was quite good, but was with less experienced guys.
Climbed in February 2008 as part of the Ring of Steall route on a surprisingly calm day. Had a quality winter day among some of the best scenery in the British Isles, I highly recommend it!

Just the one
Having camped at Glencoe the previous evening we had planned a short drive to Polldubh and then to attempt the Ring of Steall. Fate had another idea and an overturned lorry blocking both sides of the road, that the police said could take hours to clear, made us cross at the Corran ferry and take a huge detour round the other side of Loch Linnhe. Already hours behind our schedule we decided to settle for just the one when the weather decided it would bite us in the ass also. Still a worthwhile peak to do in a beautiful part of Scotland. Loved that wire bridge!
