Apex a Volcano?

Apex a Volcano?

Well no, but it sure looks like one from this angle. Photographed while ascending the west ridge of Wolframite Peak, August 8, 2009.

Agreed.

It reminds me of Mount Saint Helens, with a blown-out top and side, and a cinder cone-like mound in the middle. Too bad its not a volcano, but that just adds to its mystique by looking this way.

It's out of the so-called

"Ring Of Fire."

The exception would be Yellowstone Basin,
which includes a submerged "Super-Volcano"
that will one day spew ash around the
circumference of the Earth.

That will be one heck of a sight. I suppose we will be cut off from sunlight and then it will trigger the next ice-age.
