The range has kept its wild aspect and is ideal for alpinism, hiking, mountain skiing and nordic ski.

Les sept premiers jours du GR 738 en partant du nord parcourent Belledonne Nord jusqu'au Habert d'Aiguebelle (accès routier proche)

The first seven days of the GR 738 from the north go through the North Belledonne Range to the Habert d'Aiguebelle (close road access)

Part of Belledonne Range between latitudes 45° 15 and 45°33, between longitudes 5°59 and 6°15

North : Chaine des Hurtières South: Le Rocher Blanc, Le Grand Rocher West: Isère river valley East: Arc river valley, Glandon river valley, Eau d'Olle valley.

Getting There

Near aeroports are Lyon (France) and Geneva (Switzerland). The important cities served by railway are Grenoble (Isére) and Chambery (Savoie) . From Grenoble there is a bus line (T86) to the town of Allevard, which is close to the mostly starting points of hiking and the two ski resorts (Collet d'Allevard and Barioz). From Chambery there is a train connection to Pontcharra and a bus line (G60) Pontcharra - Allevard. Bus line G61 serves the Haut Breda valley (Fond de France) start of many mountain treks.

Les aéroports proches sont Lyon (France) and Genève (Suisse).
Les villes importantes sont Grenoble (Isére) and Chambery (Savoie) desservies par chemin de fer. Depuis Grenoble il y a une ligne de bus (T86) pour la ville d'Allevard, proche des points de départ des randonnées et des deux stations de ski (Collet d'Allevard et Barioz). Depuis Chambery il y a une liaison ferroviaire pour Pontcharra et une ligne de bus (G60) Pontcharra - Allevard. La ligne de bus G61 dessert le haut Bréda (Fond de France) point de départ de nombreux itinéraires de randonnée.
