Route Description

Trailhead Elevation: 11520 ft
One Way Distance per my GPS: 1.0 mile

From the starting area, you will not be able to see the summit of McMillan Peak but you can look southeast to see the big grassy alpine bowl known as the US Basin above you. Point 12652 ft can be identified at the head of this basin. The summit of McMillan is 0.4 miles to the north of this point. Choose any route up the grassy slopes and veer to the north going above a relatively steep area until the east summit comes into view. Hike up to the summit.

Essential Gear

Hiking boots.
