"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Sky WalkingExcellent day for a hike. Clear, cool, light breezes. The trail from Big Rock Pass is very smooth and never steep.

Big Rock PassFrom Big Rock in Lucas Valley. North on the trail about a mile, then straight up the bald slope like a fox. Once on the ridge, I blew along the trail on a breeze. Stopped for a moment to get a dose of microwaves at the north towers, then on to the south towers where one of the Bay Area's most awesome views just knocked me out.

From every directionBig Rock Ridge is my favorite place to hike in Marin County. I've been doing it several times a month for 17 years. "The Sixteener" is a great work out. It's a quick up and down from the Luiz Fire Road that has helped keep me in shape over the years and the views from it are great.
