Beautiful morning. Lots of wildflowers, very clear sky. We could even see Mt. Adams. Great hike with my wife!

Well that took awhile to get around too.
Nice enough hike. Don't recommend doing it on a hot day though.

Group expedition
Hiked up with the dogs and a group of historians and archaeologists. Dogs got way too hot and there is not any water along the route. Ran out much quicker than I expected. Hot and exposed in the summer. But, man, great views. Also an interesting old fire lookout at top.

12 peaks in 2 days
A solo trip which I started with Misery Ridge at Smith Rock. From there I stopped for a hike up Black Butte on my way to Crater Lake. At the lake I hiked up the 5 primary peaklets around the lake and a few minor ones before driving to Yamsay Mountain for the final hike. See the trip report.
Hike from the lower trailhead. Great views, and very interesting history of the fire observatory activities.

nice trail
another short outing while in Bend. I was surprised by the number of people out on this trail. Interesting old forest service lookout on top. The view of Mt Jefferson is impressive. I definitely support going early if it is summer as it can get toasty on the trail

Memorial Day Wknd
Nearly 200 hikers on the mountain with me. The FS is discouraging people from going near the tower and staff yurt.

With the fam
Hiked the 10-miler with my parents and grandparents as well as a few cousins and my brother. It was my grandparents' 50th anniversary. Awesome that they're still crushing backcountry!

Nice hike, but hot
Nice hike, but the sun was bearing down on me at 11am. Probably around 90 degrees. Great clear views from the top.

Beautiful
Nice short hike with great views. I got a decent workout in by carrying my one-year old daughter up to the top. Was nice to enjoy some October sunshine.

Worth it
We stopped by to hike this summit on the way back to Washington, and it was very much worth it. Nice quick hike with panoramic views. Only took an hour to get up - only draw back is the nasty dirt road to get up to the TH.

Great bang for your buck, so to speak :)
Much steeper grade than we expected, but gorgeous. It was an early spring day, windy and with grey clouds that covered the tips of the peaks all around us, but that somehow suited the hike perfectly. Great little dayhike.

Black Butte
Nice little hike up to the top of this one. We were able to see South and North Sister, Mount Washington, as well as Mount Jefferson but the views were very obscured in the haze of recent forest fires.

From the Lower TrailheadSteady climb from lower TH - I prefer the longer hike and it avoids the crowded main TH.
