Bocchette Centrali

Bocchette Centrali

A detail from ferrata Bocchette Centrali, section in the narrow and wild gorge between towering Campanile Basso (2883m) and Cima Brenta Alta (2960m). Here ferrata is using narrow shelves in the NW face of Cima Brenta Alta. Right, in the background, is Cima Tosa (3173m). Photo: Aleksandar Gospic

Re: So far back...

Period when I was there (end of July, beginning of August) was very unstable and wet with lot of showers, even downpours. But my friends from Crometeo service informed me frequently about the hours when it will rain so we didn't get wet once! Many people were arriving to huts wet to their skin! It must be nightmare to be caught by rain anywhere in Bocchette. And the route itself is really stunning!

Re: Stunning

Yes, it is absolutely stunning scenery and environment to be in! Below is just narrow disappearing abyss and above amazing wall of Campanile Basso! Breathtaking place!

Here is how it looks vertically

Re: It would be a dream come tru

Thanks very much Jørgen! I don't know if you visited Dolomites before but if you ask me Brenta is the place to start! Brenta is much wilder, more remote and preserved. Central Dolomites are also amazing but too fancy and civilized, IMO. Cheers!

Re: It would be a dream come tru

I have been many times in the Dolomites. But I can still find new places to go there. But Brenta is very crowded in the highseason, isn't it?

Re: It would be a dream come tru

I've been in Brenta once so can't really say. But 'main' Dolomites must be more crowded because they are more popular. Brenta is not THAT well known, which is good! At least that is how it seams to me, maybe I'm wrong. But of many mountaineering friends and people I've talked to about Dolomites almost everyone visited Dolomites but many haven't even heard of Brenta! When I visited there were people but I wouldn't say it was very crowded. It was OK, no problems in huts for sleeping.
