Bode canyon from the Hexentanzplatz

This is the place where by the old Saxon legends witches were dancing on their orgies with the Devil. The rocky plateau on the edge of the Bode canyon abyss was a cult place long before the Christianity prevailed in those places. Nowadays it's all only a tourist amusement parc. But the great view across the Bode canyon remains almost the same. In the background Brocken, the highest summit of Harz mountains, is seen. July 16th, 2018.
