Ah Rainier cherries

I did Borah back in August 2005 and loved it, including the notorious Chicken Out Ridge. However, I miss Rainier cherries, bigtime, since we had two of the trees in my backyard in Kennewick. Unique flavor and much better than Bing cherries. It is true that few people outside of Washington have ever heard of them, let alone tasted them. They are my favorite. Enjoyed your writeup of your Borah adventure.

Mmm...cherries

Not to make this TR all about cherries, but I had my first Rainier cherries in, well, a trip to Seattle, and they're the only one's I'll buy now.

Thanks for posting those great pictures. I can't believe you've had such great weather for all 3 of those hikes you've done. My short highpointing career is consistently filled with fog, rain, and sometimes....hurricanes. Nice job!

Re: Mmm...cherries

I've actually done a lot more than three State Highpoints, now, but those first three (Rainier, Whitney, Borah) had astoundingly good weather days. No argument, here. :-)

And, yes, I am also a big fan of Rainier cherries.
