Route Description

Bracev Dolac route: 4h

Bracev Dolac is small mountain village (820m, 30 houses), placed in a small valley on the Croatian side of Dinara mountain. It is accessible by 10km long road from Koljane village.

Koljane (410m) is group of scattered hamplets, above the NE shore of Pericko Jezero accumulation lake (on Cetina river). Some hamlets, which were lower, are now under the surface of the lake and houses can still be seen underwater. How to access Koljane read on the main page. Road towards Bracev Dolac begins 200m away from well visible, 10m high, monument.

From Bracev Dolac path ascends towards north. In an hour it reaches Pometenik plateau (1100m). Here are few summer houses. Here path turns gradually towards east. Now you are above the forest completely. Around are huge grassy and rocky spaces of Dinara. In some 30 minutes path turns left, taking north direction again. It ascends towards Vjestica Gora plateau, quite steeply, passing by Marcetusa hole and Paklarovica puddle. Forest of Vjestica Gora and Jelovi Vrh (1518m) stay on the right while you head in northern direction, passing Katica Torine, former pastures and onto Gubinska Vrata pass (1600m). Here path turns left, going behind steep Ledena Kosa (1742m) towards the foothills of massive Troglav (1913m), which is now just in front. Than it steeply climbs towards the summit (50mins).
