Avoided the Teton crowds and only saw 6 other people all day. Well 6 people once we left the Death Canyon Trail. Trail was in great shape. Up the east ridge and down the face. Lots of loose rock coming down the face.

East Face
Fun class 3 on slabby rock for the upper half of the face, there is also a climber's trail present except for in a few steeper slabby spots. Fun outing with great views.

Triple Crown
Really fun long day. I mean of course I took the wrong way up Stewart Draw at multiple points. But coming down the SE couloir was quite puckering. Triple Crown is referring to Buck, Static and Albright.
I found the route mostly mellow, with no snow travel. But all of the recent precip has resulted in wet slabs and loose, wet gullies.
Lots of loose rock, a helmet is not a bad idea. Looking at the East Ridge, next. Looks great, but significantly more exposed.
We successfully sumitted Buck via Stewart's draw & East Face. Started hiking at 530 and made it up by 930AM. Only small patches of snow left up top near the summit.. No snow crossings necessary, just slick rocks from snow melt and rain. Timberline lake is still mostly frozen. Beautiful 360 panoramic views of Alaska basin, rim rock lake, Avalanche canyon, and Tetons! One of the best peaks I've done in the park hands down.
Went up the East Face, on snow about 85% of the time from Timberline Lake. The trail up Stewart Draw exceeded my expectations! Great view and a great time with my amazing wife!
Caught the East Face before the snow melted out completely in the notches through cliffbands. Fun, steep, snow climb! Descended via East Face with some fun glissading. Nice solstice hike!
climbed with summitpost member Blazin. Nice route with just a little snow left to enable us to put our crampons on for a bit. A little scrambling and route finding but nothing severe. Great views. The trail was much easier to follow than I would have thought from reading the descriptions.

East Ridge / East Face
What an awesome climb. The smooth slabs near the end of the ridge pushed the limits of what I was comfortable climbing, so we made a gnarly traverse over to the face and continued to the top from there. The heat, along with a little bushwhacking on a side trail at the beginning, made this one of the more tiring hikes I've been on. Surprisingly, Timberline Lake was still completely snow-covered (basin below Buck and Static was very scenic), and there were all sorts of nice wildflowers at various elevations along the way. See "Pushing My Limits" trip report for details.

Buck
We made the approach up through Stewart Draw. We took a break at Timberline Lake. I enjoyed the view from the lake with both Static Peak and Buck Mountain as backdrops. We then went up the couloir to the East Ridge Route. We went up the East Ridge for most of the climb, but we decided to exit the route near the end for the East Face. It was a bit of a treacherous traverse. The views from the summit were great.

Nice day to be in the Tetons. Came up Stewart Draw to Timberline Lake and then up the East Face of Buck. Not a cloud in the sky and amazing views to be had up top. East Face is a fun class 3.
