Point where hiking turns into climbing and talus hopping
Leaving talus behind for more solid rock
A short section of Class 3/4
Nearing the top
Summit Group Shot
Action shot from hike down. He didn't hurt himself.
View to the north
Downclimbing a steep section
Crew members can be scene making way down talus
Almost back to the cars
Other volcanic plugs in the Rio Puerco Valley
All in all a fun hike and scramble. August is probably not the best month to make this climb, as it got pretty hot as the day dragged on. Would make a good Fall or even Winter outing. Would also be nice to catch the sunset/sunrise from the top.
Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
