of the route we did last year from Chiavenna to Dalo and Lagunc, this one a very steep trail with lots of stairs. Exactly 1000m elevation gain, and theres a competition once a year. The fastest runner scaled the 1000m in less than 30 minutes - I was happy we managed to do it in exactly two hours.
There are so many of these old interconnecting trails all across the Alps. Absolutely fascinating!
Interesting! That would mean that the route from Chiavenna is overcoming even more elevation. Also I think that perhaps somewhere in South Amerika one would be able to find a longer Inca trail with more steps than Cala del Sasso. But tourism demands to attach to it some superlatives ;)
