Very nice. A nice pair of mountains in an underappreciated part of the Whites. The Carter-Moriah traverse was my first 'modern' backpacking trip and, looking back on it, I can't believe how naive we were! I've since done the rest of it in bits and peices but the Carters have always been special.
Thanks, I'm working on them. North Carter should probably be thrown into this page, since it is not an official 4000 footer. And I'll get those Cats. And don't forget Moriah!
As the guidebook points out, this would be a very notable range if it weren't overwhelmed by its big neighbors to the west. We hiked on Saturday, and it was great. More pictures at www.whitelief.com/carter.htm.

Now we just need Wildcat and North Carter!

Untitled CommentNice well done page. I always have enjoyed the drive
between Gorham and Norht Conway on rte 16 with these mountains to the east across from Jefferson Ravine.

Untitled CommentThanks,
This was my first time in that sector, and it was beautiful. Now to climb the rest of the range, and hit Washington and the Northern Presis.
Happy trails,
David
