Casa Grande
Climbed this butte many moons ago, but didn't know this was a named peak until today. Spent three months alone canoeing and camping on the Rio Grande and hiking in Big Bend and the Lower Canyons.
Surprisingly easy trail to follow to the summit. Well worth the hike.

Round Two
It was a really beautiful clear day with only a few really large puffy white clouds. I guided up my friends, my dad, and my friends father who recently lost his son who was a extremely close friend of mine and who was also a SP member.
Rest in Peace taw6644. I had never read what he wrote about our summit until now.

Round Two
I climbed up the same day as last year. I guided my friend up, and we summited in good time and chilled at the summit for about an hour. It was a fun trip, and going down the scree was fun.

Thanksgiving Day Summit
Via Lost Mine Trail. As expected, the views were incredible. It was fun watching all the cars make their way into the basin.

Lost Mine Trail
Hiked up this and Lost Mine Peak with my gf on the first day of a four day trip to Big Bend, our first visit to the park. Enjoyable, but hot!

Casa Grande in the Snow
Man, I never thought I would climb this through snow. Someone took out the marker 7 deal which was annoying. I think the snow made it easier, especially the rock slide. Only bagged 2 of the summits. Will do it again someday.

easilly followed trail led all the way to the summit from the Lost Mine trail. completed the round trip in just over 3 hours with lots of exploring on top. the trail itself was quite steep but managable, though the 70mph winds on top were more troublesome. great views and yet another great climb.
Route Climbed: Lost-Mine Date Climbed: November 2002 and 2004
Great half day hike with minor bushwacking. One steep scramble up a loose scree field. Views on the west side are awesome looking toward the window. Summit log difficult to find, located on the north side near cliff edge. Best high country hike in the park.
