Chains rule

Chains rule

Male part of our family is hanging on chains on Baníkov (2178 m) ridge. There is one rule about chains on marked trails: one loose part of chain - one person. No more than one person should be between two neighbouring fixed parts of chain. Date of the photo: 10th september 2008

Re: Banikov

Hi Eric, Banikov is really sharp and I posted these photos to inform you, because you wrote about your plans. Many unprepared hikers/climbers become injured or killed there, especially in bad winter weather, especially Czechs and especially here, on Banikov. There is a joke: Two non-czech climbers are walking below a cornice of snow at Banikov. One of them tells to the other: "Hey, don't say a simple word in czech. It could cause an avalanche."

Re: Banikov

Hi Eric, there are some good recent pics of Banikov that are not included in your page. Click "add image", "attach existing", and type Banikov to find such pictures. Cheers, Tomas :)

Re: Banikov

I will complete my Banikov page as soon as I have time.. as you said, SP is a time consumer, so better make them one by one ! I went to Jabukina in July and I have also lots of new nice pics of Zapadne.
As for the new pictures you mention, I haven't found any except yours, but it looks like you already attached them.
I am not Czech but I am not Slovak too, so I don't know what's the effect of french on the Banikov snow cornices. We'll see ! :)
