Chumbu (6859m) - Khangri Shar (6792m) - Pumori (7138m)

Chumbu altitude 6853m/6859m, coordinates 28°00'51"N 86°47'18"E, prominence 509m is located fully within Nepal, just a few hundred metres south of the border with Tibet. Chumbu is still unclimbed. Khangri Shar aka West Pumori altitude 6789m/6792m/6811m, coordinates 28°01'09" 86°48'42", prominence 328m is located on the Nepal-Tibet border less than 2km W-NW of Pumori. It has been unsuccessfully attempted twice, but remains unclimbed. Pumori altitude 7138m/7145m/7161m/7165m, coordinates 28°00'54" 86°49'39", prominence 1157m) is the most prominent peak along the approx. 40km ridge between Everest and Cho Oyu It was first ascended in 1962 by a German expedition. Isn't that Kala Pattar...

...the dark brown 'bump' in front of Pumori? Nice shot - thanks for the photo and the info, Bruno.

Enjoyed your photo album. I love the pics of the Everest Group from the north-east, an angle that they're rarely viewed from.

Yes, it is (by the way KP is not a peak at all, but just a bump lacking any prominence on Pumori South Ridge).

To what pictures of Everest are you referring to? I can't remember having posted such photos.

I was incorrect about attributing the Everest photo I remembered to you. Now I can't find it at all!

I still appreciate all your photos, your Kalaxung photos are splendid, as are your pictures of Lunag Ri and many other lesser-known peaks.
