Clouds over the high plain
... looking west by northwest.
In fact, I've scrambled up the western bank of the Quebrada Achacullo and found myself on a plateau, at 4900m or so. Apart from the fact that there is no water, it's perfectly flat, and after removing a couple of rocks you can camp anywhere. There are wide vistas north and west. To the east and the south, Nevado Huarancante and Nevado Chucura rise a few hundred meters above the plateau. The snow-capped high peaks of Mismi, Ampato and others are 25km or more away.
