Crossing the Palisade Glacier

My brother and I had planned on climbing North Pal by the U-Notch couloir (prominent one in the centre of the photo) and then the chimney variation. Sadly we were too late to start and our arrival at the bergschrund was heralded with bowling ball sized rocks wizzing past our heads. We can both be seen as small specks in the bottom centre of the image. It is a beautiful area though, and a route which I am going to have to come back for.
