Again the weather!
Retraced the tour of 2010 on the first day of 2018. Started at Buen Paso and hiked through Barranco de las Peñitas to Cuchillo de Esquen. Again got lost on the final ascent to the knife blade (cuchilo). This time we had perfect sunny weather - but lots of wind - which made the traverse of the Cuchillo rather precarious. Luckily the worst winds hit us on and around Gran Montaña, where the ridges are very broad.

A rocky traverse on Fuerteventura
The day before we had driven the road from Vega de Rio Palmas to Pajara and had realized that there was a mountain region on Fuerteventura with rocky faces. Decided to hike from Buen Paso through Barranco de las Peñitas to Cuchillo de Esquen. Got lost on the steep south slopes but reached the crest near Pico Lima. Decided to head on to Gran Montaña then back to Vega de Rio Palmas and Buen Paso.Weather was below par but it still was a memorable day. The basalt slabs near Pico Lima are very slippery in wet conditions so take care!
