Descending Black Peak's South Ridge

Descending Black Peak's South Ridge

The South route off of the summit is considered a walk-off and is well marked with cairns. That said it's huge pile of scree so even in broad daylight it still took some route finding skill and was a slow go because it was the sort of loose-rock covered terrain that’s easy to twist your ankle on. Mount Baker is visible in the distance.
