Desert Peak in the morning

light (about 8:20 a.m.). GPS wise, we were about 4 miles from the summit at this point. The road in from the RR tracks has a lot of ruts but is otherwise not a problem. Almost no elevation is gained until you reach a confluence of roads and then head straight towards the mountain on jeep roads. A map will be posted that illustrates this. 8-18-09
