Dutchman Peak
I climbed this peak from North Hilgard Basin from my camp at Crag Lake. After hiking to South Hilgard Basin, I followed a meandering path through the extensive talus to the saddle just north of Peak 10,780 feet and east of Dutchman Lake. Although the peak is obscure, the views of this untrammeled wilderness are superb. The last 100 feet to the summit offer some fine scrambling and the summit perch is a great place to ponder the importance of wilderness.
