Re: Nice shot

Thank you Blong. I wish I had a better camera, but I did the best I could at the time.

Happy climbing,
Marc

Re: Just having a dip

Hi Charles,
Actually there are at least two moderate routes on this 2500 foot wall. One of the routes "The East Face" is only 5.6, and
and a varition to that is "The East Bttress" rated 5.9. The only problem with this face is that it get much traffic by ill prepared climbers. Many people think because it's easy they are going to finish it quickly. A lot of times that thinking does not pan-out. There have been many deaths on this wall.
Thank for dipping...
Marc

Re: What a impressive face!

Thank you so much Kenzo. This a very old photo scanned from a slide, and it brings back one of my solo mountaineering memories.
I've never seen anything like many of your photos.

Look great

Very nice picture, Marc.
I sure like that area; Bishop, Lone Pine, etc.
If I had to live in California, that would be the area I would choose!

Re: Look great

Thanks Rick. Funny thing is that my wife and I are hoping to live in Bishop, at least part time, after we retire.

Beautiful Photo Marc

Sure hope I can make it there in 2011. But not that route though.

Re: Beautiful Photo Marc

Thank you very much, Troy. This is an old photo I took during one of my "solo mountaineering years" some twenty years ago. I have no doubt you can handle The Mountaineers Route on Whitney. It goes up the gully to the right of the east face.
