Looking back at our descent route. The light is flat in the afternoon shadows, but you can make out an enormous cornice on the right-hand side of the saddle, and the steep bypass on the left. And my 3 companions, Crosser, Olya, and Victor.
Day 5 of our March 1988 ski backpack in Katun'skie Belki Range of Altay.
