This photograph was taken on September 7, 2006 in what seemed at the time like an endless summer. Mount Olympus is the massive series of peaks on the left.

Sixteen years and one month later we seem once again to be having an endless summer in Western Washington again and I'm not minding it one bit. It has been extraordinarily dry and sunny for most of the past three months.

It's been difficult to get anything done indoors. That's o.k. With the six months of wet and gray we see, there will be plenty of time later for that.

This is also a bit of make-up for last year's abrupt end to summer near the start of September and continuing through this past June.
