A view from along the scramble section of the false summits of Birkenhead Peak. The scramble section is steeper and looser than it appears. The southern top of the Birken Glacier can be seen butting against this scramble section.
After scrambling over, and occasionally around, the false summits of Birkenhead Peak, the final ascent to the true summit (the point seen center-right in this photo) will be nothing more than a short ridge hike.
