Good job Brian!! It was a pleasure to hike with you on Jefferson and North Sister. Garibaldi is in my Smoot book. When are we going to go and tag that one?
and thanks for the trip down memory lane, Brian! Next to Olympus, Glacier Peak is one of my Pacific NW favorites. It has it all; approach, variety and wilderness. Our party also had an adventure near the Notch; trying to get from White Pass over to camp in the basin on the evening of day one. And we also had members drop on climb day; one to exhaustion and the other to nausea. Despite all this, we were fortunate to have plenty of snow, good weather and great company, perhaps the most important element of all.
I hope you get lucky with Leuthold because that's a great route! An early start in early season did the trick for us.
All the best,
Pete
PS. I confess, Smoot’s “Cascade Volcanoes” was the genesis of my first list as well, but Garabaldi remains...
Let me know if you need another Oregonian for Garibaldi! Been up the other volcanoes, and while not strictly in the Cascades, I'd still like to get up there. Another great read, btw.

Re: Fellow OregonianWorking on it! Will try to convince Eileen (peak freak) that she needs to do this one again and lead us up. I do need to hit that one!
Was great to do two of the harder ones with you! That North Sister climb was quite the adventure, eh?
