Re: What time of year?This was in early June 2007... first use of my french crampons in my new country ! I made a 3 days loop in the Polish Tatras, whose photos I haven't finished to post yet (few every day :)

Re: What time of year?Yes, and even later ! I remember August 2005, when my parents had the misfortune to be introduced to the Tatras at this very time... Siroke Sedlo in the fog and in the snow... from Spisska Magura we could see Lomnica dressed of white like in the middle of January !

Re: What time of year?The August snow, if there is any, is usually gone within a week. But the mid-Sep tends to stay.

Re: What time of year?it all depends if we get snow with good weather, or snow with bad weather ! 2005 was "bad" in Tatras, believe me :)

Re: What time of year?I got a pic from a friend then, taken from Szeroka Jaworzynska - all white, even down below in the valley. But around the 20th when I was on Jakubina it was back to normal at that altitude; however, we'd given up the High Tatras, having read what the trails were like there
