frozen tarn

frozen tarn

A beautiful, mostly snow-covered tarn tucked to the east of the summit of Wynn Mountain. Boulder Creek is visible at the bottom of the valley; an old trail used to climb up the drainage to a series of tarns beneath Siyeh Pass, but has not been maintained in several decades. The ridge of East Flattop Mountain stretches across the valley and terminates at Napi Point (at left). Beyond, the Great Plains stretch out as far as the eye can see. August 04, 2008
