Great Geology, Bill

And to think that it was only in the 60s that Plate Tectonics was disovered.

I'd sure love to do this traverse. Similar to the ones on the Isle of Skye, Scotland.

Re: Great Geology, Bill

Geology - layers, faults, folds etc are so apparent from up high. Geological understanding adds to the enjoyment of the mountains for me.
This traverse is a fun trip.

I plan on doing some rambling and scrambling in Scotland some day and will have to check out the Isle of Skye.

Isle of Skye, Scotland

Best month to visit is September, more likely to have dry weather then. Though the Cuillin Hills (actually very rugged peaks) have their own climate. But standing atop Sgurr Alasdair and seeing all the inner Isles and then way out to the Outer Hebrides, is just awesome. Look me up if you head over, I haven't been for ages.
