I've visited a number of times just for viewing (no hiking). For a really spectacular view (when not dusty), drive north up 'Moki Dugway' and camp on Muley Point. Good place for sunset. Spectacular view of Monument Valley (when not dusty!)
Thanks... I agree, nice if not dusty. I used to bring family from Europe to show them this place and typically just stopped for viewing, or sometimes spending the night en route somewhere. But the last time, I decided to hike down to the river, and it was an incredible trail!!!
