I started at Gjurgjevishte. There's a paved road up to the Gjurgjevishte mosque. For drinking water there's several wells in the village. The trail is very poorly marked and the beyond the Black Lake there's no path, so a good map and GPS is neccessary. But the terrain is easily walkable even in the highest parts.
At descend I encountered several sheep flocks with dogs but there was always a shepherd watching them.
From the Arxhena Hotel I started up valley and left of the stream. On the way down I crossed over up high in the basin and came down a bigger trail that had ambitions to be a road. Apparently sheep dogs are a big concern climbing Rudoka from Kosovo or Macedonia, but in November the hills are free and clear.
