Fun little hike with my friend Deanna. Spent a great day exploring Boulder.
I never post pbrs, I regularly car to car green in less than 1 hour 15 minutes, one guy I know in Boulder does it in around 55 minutes. Too many speed freaks in the region.
The Tangen Tunnel route is great but really is one of the worst Flatiron bushwhacks I've experienced.
Up saddle rock -> greenman. Down ranger trail -> gregory canyon. Some slippery spots -- should have brought the yak-trax! 2:38 car to car.
Easy hike up Greenman from the Realization Pt trailhead on Flagstaff. Returned on Ranger. Trail is 95% packed snow and ice so bring traction or your luge sled.
Parked at NCAR and hiked up Bear Canyon. Packed snow on trail. Wore YakTrax on the descent. Recommend poles.
In an effort to test out my sore knee, I headed up the West Ridge trail to the Green's summit. Relatively short hike of only 1.2 miles from trailhead to summit. Lots of Lady Bugs near the summit. The summit was getting buzzed occassionally by a glider. Second summit of Green.
started at 2pm on a hot, hot day. didn't bring enough water. bugs raped me at the summit.
still fun =)
Live in Golden, but had never been up there. Good little workout when you can't get out to the bigs.
Sometimes in combo w/Bear and SoBo peak.
Turned around when lightning was near the top but went back to the summit when it stopped raining
Started from Chautauqua, summited Green then on to Bear Peak and South Boulder Peak. I returned on the Mesa trail.
W/ B. Gibbs. Nice day via Chautaqua TH.
Great Winter/training hike
The dog and I.
Great after work activity right in the heart of Boulder.
After spending the night in my truck in a neighborhood near the Gregory Canyon trailhead, I took a creative route to the summit. I think that at one point I was near the top of the 1st Flatiron. I had a rather mystical experience after sniffing conifer bark. It was cool and cloudy, so I couldn't see anything from the top. I spent about an hour on the top trying to center myself within the Universe. On the way down I took the Greenman Trail and linked up with the Gregory Canyon Trail. The turning aspens were a nice touch.
Went up Green Mtn today with some guys from the dorm. Very nice views from the summit, good, fun trail.
In Boulder for the summer and trying to get to all the major spots. Cut out of work early, about 1pm on a Thursday, and bused up to the Chautauqua trail head. We took the Saddle Rock/Greenman route to the top. Nothing out of the ordinary with the summer weather, but definitely a decent climb for such a short trip from the trail head.
