Fantastic StartGreat beginning of a New Year, Tomek; May you have dozens of days like this throughout 2009!
Might sound funny but I've never been to the Bieszczady, anyway, this characteristic shape must be Tarnica, but could it be Czarnohora miles away on the right?

Re: Fantastic StartThanks very much Jacek, I wish You all the best in 2009 too!
Yes, that's Tarnica and there far away it will be rather some range of Gorganys, but I may be wrong of course... For sure the massive white range closer on the right will be Polonyna Borzhava, I have a plan to visit it soon.
All the best
Tomek

Re: Fantastic StartHi Eric, I planned to go there on my present holiday in Poland but everything changed, so now I think it could be in a few months time and still depending on my situation in Ireland...have a great time with your family, we'll be in touch!
Borzhava seems to be a great place for high camping, 25 km long polonyna, great place for a few day trip.

Re: Fantastic StartWell, my idea is not to go along - too busy with the kid - but I still have in mind the transcarpathian project, and your "reconnaissance" of the terrain, especially for this area between Poland and north of Gorgany, would be very valuable :)

Re: Fantastic StartI have a vague image of Świdowiec somewhere in my brain's memory banks, which reads that this range also looked surprisingly impressive from afar.
