Grizzly Bear Cactus

Grizzly Bear Cactus

These cacti are also known as the Mojave Prickly Pear (Opuntia erinacea) or Old Man Cactus. They do not grow very tall usually reaching just 1 foot (30 cm) in height. They have flat, fleshy pads that look like large leaves but in actuality are stems. Their spines are white. Photographed in Red Rocks, Nevada.

Okay ...

it states in my book that the flowers of the
"Opuntia erinacea" can be pink, magenta OR yellow. Guess that's what led to the confusion! Magenta is almost purple, right?
I'm often RED in the face. Take care, Anya!
P.S. - I have a question on the ALBUMS. When a person creates one, do the PARENTS and CHILDREN just naturally FALL into place? Does a person have to have permission to ADD somebody else (as) CHILDREN??? Cheers & REGARDS to Henry & the dog!!!

Thanks for your help! Hey ... I know what a Saguaro looks like!!!

Re: Okay ...

I have never seen Saguaro in its natural habitat. We have some huge ones that were planted near the chocolate factory though ;)

As for the parents-children permission, you need to ask the elves.

Well ...

there you go, Anya! Making me hungry by mentioning the chocolate factory! That's okay ... Tanya does the same thing. Always brings up "The Subway" then I have to RUN across the street and buy one. Looks like I'll be gaining some weight, unless I find a mountain to climb on. "The Chocolate Factory!!!" I suppose Willy Wonka was there, also! Cheers, Anya!!!
