Gully

Gully

About 1.5 miles along the Pleasant Creek Road, I parked and approached this gully, which is easily visible from the road and was the first good break in the lowest of the cliff bands that mostly guard the ridge complex where Eph Hanks Tower is located. After ascending this gully, I began working my way left and up to get through the next set of cliffs. Capitol Reef National Park, UT-- October 2009

Question

Did you have to cross Pleasant Creek to get to this point? I've driven the Pleasant Creek road quite a ways as my son in law is interested in climbing Buck Peak near lower Bowns Lake.

Re: Question

No crossing necessary to get here; it was just a short way before the staff-only facility about 2 miles along the road.
