Sick summit
Seriously, I was really sick when I climbed this one. I had a bad reaction to what i had for lunch, and climbed it on an 80 plus degree day. It is a short one though, so I was determined. Maddie let me take my time, and I enjoyed the shade and waterfall areas. I want to go back and run it soon!

Hamilton Mountain
Nice hike with beautiful water falls along the way. Used Beacon Rock as a warm up. Strong east winds today.

Beautiful!
Other than the switchback section, this is a fairly mellow hike and well worth the effort for the views. Plus, you pass Rodney and Hardy Falls en route, which is a nice bonus.

70 and Slightly Cloudy
Very busy day on Hamilton. Based on the climbers heading up and down while we were summiting I would say 100+ people or so hit the summit today. While we were on the summit for 20 minutes we encountered about 40 people who came and left. Great hike!

Finally Feeling Like Summer!!!
Hiked with a friend and made it up in about 2 hours. After all the cloud and rain the sun was a welcomed sight! Great views from the top. Once finished, we decided to hit up Beacon Rock as well.

Too late for flowers but never too late for views
We did the loop and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves despite huffing and puffing on the way up.
Hiked up with my Dad. He made me wear my new backpack but it didn't bug me much. Some of the steps in the cliffy section are kinda high for me but I got up with no real problem. We came down the Hardy Trail way. I kicked my Dad's ass on this trail. I also thought the waterfalls were cool. I got the car seats really muddy too on the way back. That must have been why my Dad didn't let me have any of his McDonald's hamburgers on the way back. I got stupid kibble.
Are there any days that don't rain in the Gorge?
Did it again 3/6/11. Gloomy down below, sunny up top. I laid in the snow and lounged.
This is a good hike for the spring or on a morning when you can't get further from town.

Good times..
Wet, muddy, rainy, windy and cold. Just how I like it! Plus that keeps the crowds away. Saw less than six people all day, and no one on the south side.

Muddy and Peaceful!
Lots of mud on the trail, a bit popular today! A great time with snow at the top, only saw one person on the Hardy Creek side of the loop. First summit for my new pup, loved it! :)

Snow and more snow
Gorgeous day today with lots of sun and nice scenic clouds. It even got up to nearly 50 degrees. Not bad for February! Above the first set of cliffs, it got pretty snowy. At the top there was anywhere from 2 to 4 feet of snow, depending on the angle and exposure. I managed to posthole up to my crotch. Swell. Went down the way I came up ("more difficult"), since it looked the the snow got a lot deeper heading north, and I was alone.
Note: Absolutely take the Little Beacon Rock trail. The little view through the trees to Beacon Rock and across the river are perfect.
