Got off at the "photo"busstop from the bus going to Landmannalaugar. Then hiked and soloed this great peak via the north trail. There was a break in the clouds just when i reached the summit, so I could see a little bit of the surroundings. Great and long day, as i decided to hike on to Landmannalaugar. I got lost and slept in the Hekla lava field, feeling a little uneasy! :)

first Icelandic peakWonderful sightseeing journey..

North TrailA great mountain, easy to climb and an extemly rewarding view on a clear day. The poor quality of Icelandic maps don't help navigation though.

Route Climbed: North Trail Date Climbed: July 19, 2004Summitted in pretty good weather. This is #1 of 8 mountains in Iceland I plan to submit. When I get them completed I will do a trip report.
