Yes......that's exactly how I remember it from back in 1994! :-)
By the way, did you also see how the rocks were "pockmarked" by garnet crystals?

Re: Yes...You must have a better memory than me, for without this picture, I wouldn't have remembered all this loose stuff right below the summit, nor do I recall seeing any memorable crystals. Admittedly, I generally don't pay much attention to that as I don't know much about minerals. I do look closely at the rocks I'm climbing, but that's primarily to find for places to put my hands and feet and to judge how solid it is.
My most vivid memory is the sudden short drop during the ascent, high on the ridge, right where the cable turns a blind corner. Rock quality was fine at that point, and the cable both useful and reassuring.
