Hinkhouse Peak - drop to saddle

The normal route to the summit involves a short rappel to the gap between the initial peak on the ridge and the true summit. This is a class 4 section with several possible short routes on the way back from the summit, usually protected for less experienced alpine climbers. When snow free, there is also a class 4 ledge route that involves exposure but less vertical climbing.
