This is the earliest photo on from the Amphu Labsa that I've seen, shot in 1951. It is published in Eric Shipton's book The Mount Everest Reconnaissance Expedition. This may have been the first crossing of the pass.

I love old images... past expeditions only for real mountainners. Now, almost all is money and commercial stuff.
