Hohe Geige - two routes

About ten minutes above Ruesselsheimer Huette the path bifurcates: standard route (via south face, easy) to the right - west ridge (difficult) to the left. Further up, at an altitude of about 3,000 m, there is a path which connects the starting point of the final and most difficult section of the west ridge to the standard route. So, if you have climbed the west ridge up to that altitude and find the last bit of it too difficult you can take this connection to get back to the standard route. (September 24, 2006)
