Slice of Heaven

Here's a view of the southernmost ("Nameless") half of Arizona's Twin Buttes, taken from the Templeton Trail on the opposite side of Sedona, Arizona. The west side of "Nameless Twin Butte" is made up of extremely oxidized sandstone, and its west-facing escarpment is instrumental in capturing the fading rays of the sun. I don't know if anybody's ever climbed this one. You can see it from State Route 179, rising above the desert woodlands on the southern edge of Sedona. Please accept this as your own slice of Heaven. Ice cream is optional ! November 5, 2009
