Great job! It's good someone finally added this peak to sp. This is a beautiful mountain and as rugged as they come in the Sawatch. Thanks for the addition and great job for a well deserving peak!
Great page on a great and very important (if lesser climbed) mountain. It's been a long time coming. Your text and photos are excellent, the route description is first rate. SP takes another giant leap forward with this submission. Good dependable route beta on this mountain is scarce, but now it's on SP in great detil thanks to your efforts. Also thanks to Jim for his support in your climb of this potentially dangerous mountain. You've been longing after this one for quite a while. Well done to you both!
Tricia will be in Florida that week but I do have the day off. If I can get my parents to take the kiddos for a day, I'm in. Have you thought about posting this trip as a thread on SP?
This is a good page. It could use a little more detail on the routes above the first saddle. I've been monkeying around in this area for the last two years, and I have been foiled from summiting twice because of weather. (Once from late October glass ice, and once in July from thunderstorms.) The author is correct. This mountain takes a deceptively large amount of time to reach. A 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. departure from the Mt. Huron trailhead is essential. So far I've made it up to 13,600 on this mountain. Maybe some day soon. This is definitely a mountain made for courtship!

Untitled CommentYeah, definitely. I wanted to fix a date first though before inviting everybody. It could be a nice little fall SP gathering.
